Dr. Alexander Bormann, CEO of Enerkite, will give a guest lecture in the frame of the MSc course Kite Power & Propulsion (TU Delft course code AE4T40).

EnerKite is a joint spin-off from two companies with 15 years of experience and expertise in the field of wind engineering, flight mechanics, kite technology, controls and automation. EnerKite is developing kite energy converters and technology with a strong commitment to sustainable development, new technologies and regarding to the market needs. Within the CyberKite project for Festo the team has confirmed their capability to successfully implement their expertise into an autonomous kite system. Controlling kites even close to the ground and under difficult conditions represents a fundamental step towards the feasibility of the technical exploitation of kites. However the design of tethered wind energy converters incorporates other aspects such as light weight materials, wing designs and operating parameters and constraints. The presentation will give a brief overview about the results of many years of research and development in this field. |
