Three years after attending the WACAP 2010 in Rotterdam, our KitePower research group will be represented on the 8th Forum of the World Alliance of Cities Against Poverty. The WACAP 2013 will take place in Dublin from 20 to 21 February 2013.
“The Forum and Expo - Making Cities Smart, Safe and Sustainable - will marry practical experience to blue sky thinking. It will provide an opportunity for NGOs and grassroots organizations, cities and technology experts to work together to develop smart solutions to the impact of poverty on individuals, families and communities and cities.”
The exhibition stand will serve as an intelligent interface to attract people to the technology of kite power and how it can contribute to the solution of making cities smart, safe and sustainable. A team of three MSc graduate students, namely Bryan Franca, Christoph Grete and Rachel Leuthold will further emphasize the potential of deploying kite power in developing countries.
Partners of the conference are among others the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), UN Women, the City of Dublin, unitar and unicef.
