Education is one of the core missions of our development activities and in fact student team members have provided some important contributions. However, it is not only the competitive potential of the innovative wind energy technology that attracts many students, but also the multi-disciplinary technical challenges associated with designing, building and reliably operating a tethered wing to harvest wind energy from higher altitudes.
If you are interested to join the team as a student member, check out the list of assignments. As an academic research group, we are continuously looking for motivated students not only from Delft University of Technology or other technical universities, but also from business schools and universities of applied sciences. The ERASMUS programme provides a suitable funding option for students from EU member states. For an internship placement you should apply for the SMP mobility scheme. If you want to also perform part of your studies in Delft and transfer some of the points to your home university, the SMS mobility scheme is the best option option.
Next to the project supervision we offer a set of specialised courses on Airborne Wind Energy in general and Kite Power in particular. The regular course lectures are supplemented by guest lectures by prominent members of the international AWE community.
